Your homework for this week is to write a 300 word bigraphy of Koseph Goebbels, IN YOUR OWN WORDS. We will deliver the presentations on Monday, and discuss Goebbels’ role.

Year 12 Holiday Homework

Just to keep you entertained over the holiday, you need to write an essay to answer the following question:

Assess the reasons why did US Foreign Policy changed between 1890 and 1917.

Look at economic reasons, military reasons, political reasons and any other that you can think of.  Remember the Monroe Doctrine, Open Door Policy and Manifest Destiny, link these in with your argument.

Remeber you are looking for reasons for change over time.  To score highly you need to show a wide range of reading and make decisions about whether one reason was more important than another.

Yr12 Monday 20/10/2008

I am off an a History trip with Year 11 today!

So here is your work:

I want you to continue to look at the factors which changed US Foreign Policy between 1890 and 1917.  If you google “history US foreign policy” you will come up with loads of good results.  Make a list of the different types of factors (i.e. economic, war etc.) that you find then expand each point by selecting some evidence which supports each factor.

You could present it as a list, a spider diagram or in any other way you see fit, bring this to Wednesdays lesson.

Year 12 Homework – Nazi Propaganda

You need to prepare a short presentation about an aspect of Nazi Propaganda.

Consider…

What was the propaganda like? Include examples for all to see/hear.

What were the effects? Who was it aimed at? What were the messages?

How successful was the propaganda? Did it work? Why/why not?

Yr 12 Essay Due 13/10/08

OK, the time has come to do a “proper” essay.  I’m feeling generous, so I will give you a choice of 2 questions:

1. Explain why the Democratic Party was overshadowed by the Republicans from 1896 to 1912,

or

2. Explain why the American economy expanded so much and so fast between 1890 and 1920.

This must be handed in on paper by 13/10/08.
