Dear Mr. Wright
i am reading this week the USA history text book pg 57-60 on prohibition.
Prohibition was introduced by religous groups who blamed all the US problem on alcohol. The way they introduced it was instead of have a prohibition party they went through a two main parties.
Wartime condition added to the legislation of prohibition.
The Passing of the eighteenth amendment was a rare case but this helped them pass the prohibition act.
After this act the alcohol buisness was taken over by private individuals and gangs.
What help this illegal trade was there being far too little law informents and working for too small budge.
Prohibition also widened the division between rich and poor.
